Gift Tag Set (for Giving!)

Every few months, I spend an afternoon making tags, usually birthday and thanks, so that when I need to wrap a gift or just dress up a plant or treat-filled jar, I can do so easily.  THis time of year, I start to stock up on holiday gift tags, of course.  It’s amazing how many gift tags we use throughout the season!

I also make extras to bundle into sets of tags to give as hostess or thank you gifts.  I think it’s a thoughtful little gift that helps simplify the recipient’s holiday. I had such fun designing a few different tags, using some of Stampin’ Up!’s new Christmas sets.

These worked up really quickly, once I narrowed down which sets I wanted to use. For this one, I used the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set and loved working with these stamps.  I also used Whisper White Craft Ink, Rhinestones, a bit of Season of Style Designer Series Paper, and Cherry Cobbler ink.

Endless Wishes Set, Item 133455, $13.95

The Peace on Earth Tag is so much prettier in person, y’all!  I stamped the Wonderful Blessing single stamp (Item 134779, $8.95) in gold metallic Encore ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  After cutting around it (because I was too lazy to get out my circle cutter), I added it to this simple bag with a stripe of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and a bow made of gold tulle. The last design I stamped used another single stamp, O Holy Night (Item 131832, $13.95 for wood, or Item 131835, $10.95 for clear).  I simply stamped it on black cardstock using Whisper White craft ink to mimic a chalkboard look. Remember, when you’re using craft ink, it takes a few minutes to dry, or use a heat tool, to avoid smearing it.Tags-Holy-Night-ChaosServed

I made four of each tag to include in my gift set, for a total of twelve.  I wound some Cherry Cobbler Bakers’ Twine around a clothespin to include, as well.  After punching a hole in each tag, I attached them to a sheet of cardstock and slid everything into a clear flat bag.

If you’d like to stamp something, but don’t want to order a huge amount of stamps, paper, and ink, take a look at Stampin’ Up!’s Stamp a Tag Kit or the Pop & Place Holiday Gift Tag Book.  They’re both great deals to make a passel of tags at a reasonable cost.

Stamp a Tag Kit, Item 132806, $10.95, Makes 24 tags

Pop & Place Holiday Gift Tags Starter Bundle (includes the Pop & Place Holiday Gift Tags Book (which includes 70+ tags in five paper designs, 2 pages of each design), the coordinating Christmas Tagables Photopolymer Stamp Set, a Soft Suede ink spot, and a clear block to stamp with).

And what to do if you don’t want to stamp tags?  Well, I’ve got you covered there, too!  Stampin Up! has a nifty download, To You From Me Designer Template , item 132811, and it’s on sale this month for only $2.77! I simply printed these onto white cardstock, cut them out, and punched holes in them for the twine.  I packaged them as I did the handstamped ones, with some bakers’ twine.

Whew! That was a lot of choices, wasn’t it?  I didn’t mean to make this post so long, but kept thinking of other options I wanted you to know about!  Now I’m off to actually wrap some gifts so I can use these fun tags!

These are gorgeous! It makes me want to stamp. I’ve been putting together all the cards out of the Everyday Occasions kit that I ordered from you. I love them, and it’s really got my juices flowing for more stamping. And I adore and love to make tags! I’ll be perusing your site later this evening, or this weekend to get something. 🙂

I enjoy that you showcase things in your blog about your Stampin’ Up business. Otherwise I wouldn’t even know what was out there! Making cards and tags is a craft that is close to my heart, but I just don’t take as much time for it anymore. I’m going to try to squeeze more time for it this coming year. There……….first resolution. Now, I’m sure, many more to come. 🙂 Have a great day Megan!

You are the sweetest, Steph! I’m so glad to rekindle the stampin’ bug…but wait until next week to order anything…the big holiday sale will start on the 20th and go until after Thanksgiving. I don’t know yet what is included, but they usually have some amazing deals.
