Happy Independence Day!

I’m just posting a quick photo today, featuring my very favorite “flag” that hangs year-round at our home. A dear friend made this, when our husbands were stationed together at Fort Polk, LA, in 2009. Since then, it’s hung outside every front door we’ve had since then…Washington, Kansas, two others in Washington, and now Wisconsin. In just a few days, it’ll be packed up to return to Washington with us.

Each time I see it, I’m reminded of our Army journey: Lifelong friends we’ve made, deployments we’ve endured, and those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. This simple pallet art {from before pallet art was cool} embodies everything Independence Day means to me, and I’ll treasure it always!Flag-ChaosServedDaily

Wishing you and yours a fabulous (and safe!) Independence Day!

What a wonderful gift and an equally wonderful message. Independence day is special to us and a time of remembering and being thankful for those who’ve given so much for all of us. Hope you all have a great day.

We started a new tradition this year in the ‘hood. Had Sandy & Al over this morning for a flag raising ceremony, then had coffee and pastry on the patio and talked about how great it will be NEXT year when you all get home and can join the celebration! So don’t make plans for the 4th next year–you’re already committed! LOL
