Stampin’ Up! Retirement Lists and a Paper Pumpkin Card

It’s that time again…Stampin’ Up! has released the list of retiring stamps and accessories. As always, it’s bittersweet, since there are always a few of my favorites on the list, which saddens me, but then the new catalog is just around the corner and I’m sure to find new favorites there!

As a demonstrator, it’s a balance between buying what I love and buying what I think my customers will like and want to see demonstrated.  One benefit of being here in Wisconsin is that I’ve become a “hobby demonstrator,” which means I’m basically my own customer.  This gives me the freedom (in my own mind) to only buy the stamps and accessories I really want, which has been kind of fun.

Of course, as a customer, you can always choose just what you like, and ignore what everyone else thinks!  Don’t tarry too long, though…these retiring sets are available only through June 3.  The stamps will be available until then, but accessories are only available while supplies last, so, again, don’t dillydally!

As I’m sure you know, you can shop anytime at my Stampin’ Up website, http://meganodonnell.stampinup.net.  You can also see the retiring lists there by clicking on “Promotions.”

Did you know there are several colors joining the permanent lineup at Stampin’ Up!?  Most have been In Colors in the past, but there is one brand-new color, Smoky Slate. The returning In Colors are

  • Bermuda Bay
  • Calypso Coral
  • Wisteria Wonder
  • Pear Pizzazz
  • Soft Sky
  • Pool Party
  • Blushing Bride
  • Crushed Curry
  • Island Indigo

Of course, some colors have to retire to make room for these, so the retiring colors are

  • Regal Rose
  • Pretty in Pink
  • Bashful Blue
  • Certainly Celery
  • Baja Breeze
  • Riding Hood Red
  • Bravo Burgundy
  • Not Quite Navy
  • More Mustard
  • River Rock

The 2011-2013 In Color Lucky Limeade is also retiring. Don’t you feel badly for Lucky Limeade?  He’s the only one in his class not joining the permanent crew. By the way, that’s my favorite of that set of In Colors. Obviously Stampin’ Up! did not consult me about their Color Refresh.

I’m also showing off one of the cards I made with the Paper Pumpkin Kit for April.April-Paper-Pumpkin

Everything I needed, except adhesive, was included in the cute little package the mailman dropped off at my doorstep. I did subsitute “Thank You” for the sentiment stamps that came with the kit, because that’s what I needed. The kit stamps said “you kick booty” and “love your guts.” I really love the Paper Pumpkin Kits.  They can be assembled in less than thirty minutes, everything is already cut and designed for you, and you end up with super cute stamps that are exclusive to Paper Pumpkin, as well as a Stampin’ Spot each month and a card design you can recreate easily.

You can order your own creativity escape through http://www.mypaperpumpkin.com/. It’s available as a one-month trial kit or as an on-going monthly delivery. You can also stop it, such as for a vacation or something, then restart with the current month. Win-win-win!
