Christmas Card Monday

Yes, it’s that time of year again!  Less than 100 days until Christmas, and I’m sure you want to send handcrafted cards to all your friends and family.  Right?  Well, even if you don’t, I hope I can change your mind.  Making cards ranks right at the top of my favorite Christmas crafts, and they really can be simple yet beautiful, and easy to produce in mass.

Of course, I only send handmade cards to those who I know will appreciate them…so I make about fifty cards each year. From now until the end of November, I’ll have a new card idea every Monday on my blog.  They’ll be easy to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) and, of course, you can easily order the supplies by clicking on the link to my Stampin’ Up! website.

All Stampin’ Up! supplies:  Sweet Essentials stamp set;Crumb Cake & Daffodil Delight Card Stock; Festival of Prints DSP Stack;;White Uniball Gel Pen; Merry Minis Punch Pack; Crystal Effects; Cherry Cobbler marker

This card uses a couple of my favorite products from the Holiday Catalog…the Festival of Prints DSP Stack (Item 126904, $6.95) and the Merry Minis Punch Pack (Item 126882, $16.95).

The DSP stack is like a Mat Stack…the papers are 4-1/2” x 6-1/2” and you’ll get 48 sheets…4 each of 12 double-sided designs.  Their size makes them perfect for matting 4×6 photos, or trimmed to fit card fronts.  Or you can use a whole bunch of little strips like I did because you can’t decide which one you like best!

The Merry Minis punch pack includes three punches:  a star, a Christmas tree, and a holiday light. To make the shiny star on top of this tree, I just punched out a star from Daffodil Delight and covered it with Crystal Effects.  Once it’s dry, just adhere it on top of your tree.  It also works to add the Crystal Effects after the star is adhered, in case you were wondering.  I accidentally tested it.

I put this card together in less than five minutes (because I lost track of time and had to go pick up the hooligans).  I really did mean for the strips to be at slight angles, and the stitching with the gel pen is designed to look a bit unraveled along one spot.

It’s a cozy, fun, handmade card to kick off the season…don’tcha think?

I love it! This would be an easy one to whip up a lot of. And I have a ton of pretty Christmas-y scrapbook paper stored up. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks, Dania…if you make 5 or 6 each week, it’ll be almost like coming to my Stamp-a-Stacks, right? Minus the witty conversation and yummy snacks, of course. Miss stampin’ with you!
